How to Register and Create Your Avatar on OLIGrid

Follow the steps below to create your OLIGrid account, set up your avatar, and access the virtual environment using the Firestorm Viewer:

1. Account Registration

• Visit the official OLIGrid website at: https://oligrid.net.
• In the main menu, locate the GRID option and click on the Register submenu.
• Fill out the registration form with the following details:
  • First Name: Your first name.
  • Last Name: Your last name.
  • Username: Choose a unique username (note: this field may appear twice; use the same username for both).
  • Email: A valid email address.
  • Password: Create a strong password.
  • Password Confirmation: Re-enter your password to confirm it.
• Once all fields are completed, click the Create Account button.
• Your account is now successfully registered.

2. Logging into OLIGrid

• On the homepage, click the Login link.
• Enter your Username and Password in the respective fields.
• After logging in, you will be automatically redirected to the Grid Profile page.

3. Avatar Creation

• On the Grid Profile page, set up your avatar by providing:
  • Grid Avatar First Name: The first name for your avatar.
  • Grid Avatar Last Name: The last name for your avatar.
  • Password: Re-enter your account password for verification.
• Select your avatar’s default appearance from the following options:
  • Ruthare
  • Ruthian
  • Ruthiel
• After choosing the name and appearance, click the Create button.

4. Configuring the Firestorm Viewer

To access OLIGrid, you’ll need to configure the Firestorm Viewer client. Follow these steps:

• Open the Firestorm Viewer application on your computer.
• From the top menu, click Viewer and select Preferences.
• In the preferences window, navigate to the OpenSim tab.
• In the Login URI field, enter the following address:http://hg.oligrid.net:8002
• Click the OK button to save your settings.

5. Accessing OLIGrid

• On the Firestorm Viewer login screen, fill in the fields:
  • Username: The username you created.
  • Password: Your account password.
• From the grid selection dropdown menu, choose OLIGrid.
• Click the Login button to enter.
• Congratulations! Welcome to OLIGrid. You can now explore the virtual environment with your avatar.
